Before you begin

What you’ll build

Two things: the newsletter itself — laid out from a Content Template, targeted to a Segment, and sent automatically — and the Journey Manager App your marketing team uses to run it (draft issues, pick the audience, and watch results) without touching the admin. This guide stays high level — follow the links for the full detail of each object.

Steps

1

Model the audience

Build a Segment over your Contacts so the recipient list stays current on its own. Capture subscription preferences as Attributes (or a Profile) so you can segment on them.
2

Grow the list (optional)

Capture new subscribers with an Engagement Funnel sign-up flow that creates or updates Contacts.
3

Design the newsletter

Lay out the email with a Content Template, pulling images from the DAM, and author each issue as a Content Instance — one version per language.
4

Automate the send

Create an Event Template in Events & Automation whose flow runs the Send email to contacts action against your Segment. For a recurring newsletter, trigger it on a schedule.
5

Build the management dashboard

Assemble a Journey Manager App for the marketing team: a Section over your newsletter issues with a data table and cards, a front page of KPIs, a Single Record page to edit an issue, and a New Record form to draft the next one — so the team runs campaigns end to end from one place.
6

Verify & optimize

Send a test, confirm delivery in the automation’s run history, and track consumption in Usage.

Troubleshooting

Confirm an email transport provider is set in Communication settings, and that the Send email to contacts action targets the right Segment.
