Overview

Commerce Settings holds the module-wide configuration for Commerce: the timezone used to resolve dates in order naming, and the default location applied to new orders. For the bigger picture, see the Commerce overview.

Where to find it

Commerce Settings lives under Settings → Commerce, with an Order naming card and a Default order location card — each with its own Logs.

Order naming

The naming timezone is the timezone used to resolve date tokens (year, month, day) in an order template’s naming convention. It also determines when monthly and daily counters roll over — so an order created just after midnight lands in the new day’s counter according to this timezone, not UTC.
SettingTypeDescription
naming_timezonetimezoneThe timezone that resolves date tokens and counter resets in order naming (e.g. America/Mexico_City).

Default order location

An optional default location applied to new orders:
  • Set — new orders start with this location by default.
  • Not set — orders require a location to be chosen each time.
SettingTypeDescription
default_order_locationreferenceThe location applied to new orders by default. Optional.

Behaviour & rules

  • Naming timezone affects counters — changing it changes when daily and monthly order counters reset.
  • Default location is a convenience — it pre-fills the order’s location; you can still change it per order. With no default set, location is required on every order.
  • Auditable — changes to each card are tracked in its Logs.

Governance & permissions

Only a super admin or Master can change the naming timezone and the default order location.
